New Shows Up!
Episode 3 of Save Water, Drink Beer is up! A three week break but back good as ever hopefully!

In other news I have gone a bit mad with the 'Record From Webcam' button on YouTube and started doing some more regular micro vlogs to fill space. Also in a total TomRanson.com take over I am also recording an audio podcast. You can find that on iTunes if you search TomRanson in the iTunes store. The podcast (hopefully) will turn into a bit of a weekly thing with all the members of 53 Whitstable Road! We will see.

I am doing quite well at getting out a show a week, this week I am looking at dPod and Locale. Both free apps from the Markteplace.
Exciting day!
So my 360 died on me the other day, that was very sad. I mentioned that a friend had a console he could give me, but I didn't realise that it was actually a good console! It has a HDMI port out the back so if I ever manage to afford a HD TV it will be ready. The board inside is a Zephyr meaning it has the improved cooling on the GPU and glue around the edge of both GPU and CPU to further aid the RROD problems with previous consoles. All I need to do is have the DVD drive of this one flashed. I will still try to fix my other console, I have ordered the parts to replace those stupid x-clamps. If i can fix that then i will have two working consoles...score!
In other news, I watched the Eurovision last night, that was brilliant. There were actually a few songs that I quite liked so I downloaded the Eurovision soundtrack. I am not even ashamed...
Digital Delivery?
Ok, so since I had my 360's DVD drive flashed I haven't been able to burn any of my own discs up. Well since saturday I have been back in Canterbury with our 16mb broadband and I have been going crazy! So far I have got Mirrors Edge, Dead Rising, Fifa Street 3 and Pro Evo 09 with many more downloading. It got me thinking. This process of downloading and burning is so easy, why don't the developers make the files avaliable on their site and you pay to download them. Digital delivery seems like a great idea, no?
In other news, this site renders really well on a mobile browser! Go ahead, try it out. It's just a Wordpress plugin that my cousin James pointed me to, but it works a treat.

I ask because Game are offering £80 off if you trade in your old DS for it. You would of course need the old box but i think that's under my bed.
The DSi offers enhanced internals giving the device the ability to play the "DSi enhanced cards" and two cameras on the device.
It's so tempting, it's released on friday...
Windows Marketplace isn't for you.
Microsoft have said that the Marketplace will only work on devices with Windows Mobile 6.5 and up. That means that all the people that have 5.0, 6.0 and 6.1 devices will all miss out. What a load of balls, especially since 6.5 isn't out yet. They will be releasing a product into the market with an installed base of zero...
The release of the Touch Diamond, Blackstone and Rapael have pushed Windows Mobile more into the consumer market, but are not supported for the new Marketplace...

Windows Marketplace
Some cool news came out of CTIA today about the Microsoft Marketplace (the Microsoft version of the Apple App Store).
Developers wont have to pay to update their applications in the store and when people download something they have a 24 hour evaluation period when they can return it if it wasn't what they wanted. Sounds great! I am looking forward to the next wave of Windows Mobile software (6.5 and all the apps it will bring) because they seem to be roughly going in the right direction to stay on to of Apple.
Sony are idiots
So after all that news about a big global announcement they go and announce that the PS2 will no be selling at $99.
Is that it? Is that the big news? Sony...what gives? That's rubbish.
Edit: To make it far funnier than it already is, the price cut doesn't effect the UK...

Transparent Keypad?

How cool is this? Its an LG phone with a piece of glass for the keypad. It's touch sensitive and might also work as a sort of laptop track pad. I say might because details are kind of sparse. The phone is to be showcased at CTIA in Vegas this week. The phone is due out in May in Europe and Asia and will probably retail at £(Far Too Much)...
